Graystone Tractor Services offers construction of gravel RV pads and boat storage pads. If you own an RV, travel trailer, 5th wheel or boat, you may find
it challenging to park it on unstable, unlevel or difficult to access ground. We can construct a stable gravel pad where you can easily park your toys.
Generally, a good location for a new parking pad would be in a location where your RV, Trailer or boat can be backed in and pulled out easily, as well as a
location that can be leveled out with gravel or construction base material cost-effectively. Most people prefer an area of their side yard, beside their main driveway
or their front yard as a location for a pad.
Complexity of the new pad depends on the location, topography and composition of the ground where the pad will be located. If the ground is solid, it is usually a
straight-forward job that may include light leveling, measuring and delivery of material, installation of heavy duty driveway fabric, followed by
installation of a suitable gravel material, such as compactable gravel.
Some jobs may first involve preparing the area first, such as leveling, brush removal and sometimes if the ground in the area is soft, it is usually
recommended to stabilize the area first, usually through the installation of a level of larger rock material as a construction base.
A well constructed gravel parking pad not only will make life simpler for parking your RV or boat, it can enhance the curb appeal of your home and also add value to your home.

Frequently asked questions:
While the interior length of your travel trailer is 20', that does not include the hitch, which generally adds 2-3 feet to the overall length of your trailer.
You will want your pad to be at least as long as the overall length of your trailer. Most larger travel trailers and fifth wheels are around 8 feet wide.
You will want to have at least a foot on either side of the wheels.
This will make the minimum pad size for your trailer 10'x24'.
We will need a minimum of a 5 foot opening in any fences plus access to the working area. Please clear away any items or obstacles from the work area.
We will also need a section to hold the gravel materials while the construction is underway. The dump truck delivering the gravel material will need
clear access to the gravel storage area, please move any vehicles or other items that may obstruct the work area or gravel storage area.
A standard pad with dry, stable ground can usually be constructed within a day of having the gravel materials on-site. Our first step is to conduct a site survey
to determine suitability and to identify any potential problems with the site. The size of the area is then calculated based on your needs and measured off. The
needed gravel/rock material is then calculated based on the pad size. The materials are then priced out and a delivery date is scheduled. We usually can arrange
to complete the work on the day the materials are delivered.
We will measure the area where your material will be installed so you will know exactly how much material you will need.
Although we don't deliver the material directly,
1. We can either provide you with the contact numbers for the gravel suppliers in your area if you prefer to coordinate
delivery of the material prior to us coming to install the material.
2. We can coordinate the delivery and of the material for you. In such cases, we require a deposit for the cost of the delivered materials prior to delivery.
