In most cases, gravel work is a quick job, where the area is measured, gravel material is brought in and delivered to your home and it is then moved into place.

In areas where compaction is required, such as pads for RV, boats or gravel driveways, we usually recommend 5/8" minus material, which compacts well. Hardscape areas for front or back yard landscaping will generally use a non-compactable rock, while entertainment areas will usually use a smaller non-compactable rock, such as pea gravel. Heavy landscape fabric is generally recommended to be laid in the area first, to prevent unwanted vegetation, weeds or grass in the area.
